The Opportunity
As a Training Advisor, you will provide support and guidance across all Austal Australia sites. Working with a range of stakeholders, you will help develop, implement, and evaluate training programs and early career pathways including apprenticeships, internships, and work experience initiatives. You’ll play a key role in enhancing workforce capability and future talent pipelines.
What's Involved
- Act as an advisor on training initiatives across business-as-usual and project-related work.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Provide timely advice, support, and expert guidance to stakeholders across the business around training pathways.
- Coordinate and advise on Austal Apprenticeship Program and provide support to apprentices regarding training and development.
- Manage and promote the Work Experience Program and its transition into apprenticeship opportunities.
- Support employment branding initiatives and information to support workforce development.
- Partner with external stakeholders to promote diversity in the workforce.
- Support the continuous improvement of training practices, program evaluation, and workforce capability initiatives.
What You’ll Need
Essential:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Training & Assessment (TAE).
- 5+ years' experience in training, or workforce capability across complex, multi-site environments.
- Strong VET system understanding and experience in qualification process.
- Knowledge and proven experience on Traineeship and Apprenticeship Programs.
- Strong training and compliance motivation across all aspects of learning and development activities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong attention to detail, planning, and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience in learning design and delivery.
Desirable:
- Experience with Learning Management Systems or Safety & Compliance Documentation Systems.
- Background in production, construction, or working with third-party training providers.
- Experience in business reporting, governance, risk management, gap analysis and evaluation.
- Experience streamlining processes to improve safety, quality, and efficiency outcomes.
