What’s Involved
  • Participate in Confined Space Entry Sentry and Fire Sentry duties 
  • Assist tradespeople when required with the preparation of materials, tooling and equipment required to carry out the job.
  • Carry out cleaning duties as required throughout the workshop and ships under construction
  • Understand, embrace, implement and comply with all Austal Policies and Procedures related to HSEQ
  • Hold self and workmates accountable to HSEQ standards
  • Ensuring good housekeeping is practiced

You’ll Need
 
Essential
  • Current Driver’s Licence 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Capable of Performing work in a safe and acceptable manner
  • Ability to use standard tools
  • Possesses good time management skills and ability to meet targets set by the supervisor.
  • Be fit and healthy
 
Desirable
  • Forklift License
  • EWP + 11m
  • Work in accordance with an issued permit
  • Demonstrate First Attack Fire Fighting Equipment
  • 1 year Experience in Engineering or Construction industry as a trade assistant
  • 1 year Experience in Confined Space Entry Sentry and First Sentry
  • Hold or studying toward a cert 2 in Engineering
