The Opportunity
The Storeperson is responsible for providing general warehouse and logistics services in line with Supply Chain Process, and is accountable for delivering their work on time, in full and to standard The Storeperson is responsible for keeping themselves and their workmates safe whilst maintaining a clean, tidy and productive work environment.
The Storeperson is a general labour position with a high level of physical movement and manual handling of tools, materials and equipment (goods).
What’s involved
- Deliver high-level customer service to the Production Department by ensuring timely availability of tools, materials, and equipment for project use.
- Support warehouse and logistics operations across Austal facilities in accordance with Supply Chain processes.
- Safely operate powered industrial vehicles (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) while maintaining a valid operator licence.
- Perform stowing, picking, packaging, and handling of goods in line with procedures for safe storage and transit.
- Provide safe and efficient forklift services for on-site material movement in line with established protocols.
- Assist with stocktaking activities.
- Maintain housekeeping standards across all work areas.
- Ensure consistent, high-level support is provided to the production team.
You’ll need
Essential
- Valid forklift licence.
- Valid manual driver’s licence.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Warehousing and Logistics, ideally within a Marine Support, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Defence environment.
- Proficient in working within a computerised ERP system.
- Possession of a Construction White Card.
Desirable
- Experience handling Dangerous Goods (DG).
- Certificate III in Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
- Participation in High Performing Team training.
- Experience using Pronto or IFS systems.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
