About the Opportunity
The Ship Manager is accountable to the Program Manager for the vessel build aspects of Strategic Shipbuilding Tasking Statements. This includes all functions of the Strategic Shipbuilding Value Stream ensuring that they are delivering the execution of the end-to-end Build Strategy from development through execution and delivery. This will require interacting with, and direct performance tracking and driving of, any sub-contracted build yard Construction Management. The Ship Manager will work across the spectrum of multi-disciplined Production team offices and drive performance by using Project management principles and ship building subject matter expertise, from Planning through Test and Acceptance. This focus on pushing the project to operationalize the build strategy into a Program Shipbuilding Master Plan and then execute that plan to meet SSA and Program goals.
