About the Opportunity
Based in Naval Base, WA, the Senior HSE Advisor will be responsible for providing strategic and operational HSE leadership within the Austal Ships LCM (Landing Craft Medium) project team. Partnering closely with key stakeholders, this role delivers expert guidance, drives compliance, and ensures the effective implementation of HSE systems and practices to support safe and efficient project outcomes.

What’s Involved
- Support delivery of HSE outcomes across the LCM project, ensuring alignment with Principal Contractor requirements
- Provide expert advice and guidance to operational leaders to effectively manage HSE risks and obligations
- Maintain and continuously improve project HSE documentation, including risk assessments, site plans, and emergency response procedures
- Lead hazard and incident management processes, including reporting, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions
- Support and guide injury management processes across the project and broader site stakeholders
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with the Principal Contractor, project team, and workforce to drive safety performance
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting to meet internal and external project requirements
- Embed consistent HSE practices across the project, driving risk reduction, system maturity, and continuous improvement
You’ll Need
Essential:
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- 5â8 years’ experience in HSE, progressed from a Safety Advisor or similar role
Desirable:
- Internal Auditor certification or demonstrated auditing experience
- ICAM (Incident Cause Analysis Method) investigation training
- First Aid and/or Emergency Response certification
- Diploma or certification in Environmental Management
