Senior Configuration Management Officer

About the Opportunity

The Senior Configuration Management Officer supports the coordination and execution of Configuration Management activities in alignment with the project's CM Plan. Working closely with the Configuration Manager/Lead, the officer contributes to achieving both project-specific and Austal-wide CM objectives. Effective CM practices are critical to maintaining the Product Baseline for In-Service Support of the Evolved Cape Class Patrol Boats.

What’s Involved

• Assist in coordinating and delivering project Configuration Management (CM) activities.
• Support completion and close-out of CM tasks per plans and schedules.
• Ensure accurate capture of configuration data and changes in Data Warehouse
• Help coordinate and conduct configuration audits and reporting.
• Provide regular updates on CM status and report on contract deliverables.
• Act on behalf of the CM Lead when required.
• Facilitate and assess CM impacts within the Engineering Change Process.
• Maintain and adhere to CM processes for consistent output delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of CM practices.
• Promote teamwork across internal and external stakeholders.
• Support integration of disciplines across project activities (e.g., Design to Production, Electrical to Mechanical).

You’ll Need

• Certificate IV or higher in a relevant technical discipline (Essential)
• Demonstrated success in coordinating and executing Configuration Management activities across complex engineering and maritime projects, ensuring alignment with CM plans, timely delivery, and compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
• Maritime-related degree or trade qualification (Desirable)
