Purchasing Officer
About the Opportunity
As a Purchasing Officer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our procurement operations running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll manage the endâtoâend purchasing process, work closely with internal teams and suppliers, and make sure goods and services are delivered on time to support both dayâtoâday operations and major projects.
You’ll maintain accurate procurement data and records, expedite orders, resolve purchase order and invoice issues, and ensure all purchasing activity aligns with company policies, supplier agreements, and project timelines. Building strong relationships will be central to your success â both with suppliers and with the teams you support.
This role also contributes to continuous improvement across procurement, working alongside the Purchasing Lead and Strategic Procurement team to enhance value, efficiency, and overall performance.

What’s Involved
- Monitor and control the endâtoâend purchasing lifecycle to ensure timely and accurate procurement processes
- Process and consolidate purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify procurement requirements
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm and consolidate order details
- Sourcing and negotiating pricing, identifying the most competitive supplier
- Monitor open orders and follow up on deliveries
- Maintain accurate procurement records
- Assist with invoice discrepancy resolution
- Comply with procurement policies and procedures
- Support the Purchasing Lead and Strategic Procurement team
You’ll Need
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks under supervision
- Experience using ERP or procurement systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Familiarity with purchasing in a project based or manufacturing environment (desirable)
- Experience in Defence, Maritime, or manufacturing industries (desirable)
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles (desirable)
