About the Opportunity
As the Project Administrator and Testing Coordinator for Austal Defence Australia (ADA) you’ll be responsible for providing comprehensive project administration support to the Digital Shipyard programme, while also overseeing the planning, execution, and reporting of testing activities. This dual role ensures that project documentation, scheduling, and stakeholder communications are managed to a high standard, and that all testing processes are robust, traceable, and aligned with project objectives. What’s Involved
- Provide end-to-end project administration, including scheduling, meeting coordination, documentation management, and progress tracking.
- Coordinate stakeholder communications, including preparation of reports, presentations, and status updates, and act as a central point of contact for project queries
- Support risk and issue management, by logging, and tracking project risks and issues, and facilitating resolution through appropriate channels.
- Facilitate project governance, including preparation for meetings, maintaining action registers, and ensuring decisions and actions are followed up.
- Coordinate and manage all phases of the testing lifecycle, including planning, script development, execution (SIT/UAT), defect management, and reporting
- Develop and maintain project and test documentation, including plans, scripts, and traceability matrices
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement throughout project administration and testing processes, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution.
You’ll Need
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (typically 3â5+ years) in project administration and software testing coordination within digital, IT, or transformation environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, documentation, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience developing and executing test plans and scripts, managing defect resolution, and maintaining traceability
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, prepare clear reports and presentations, and facilitate productive meetings.
Desirable
- Understanding of digital technology implementations, including customer-facing platforms, automation, and integration solutions.
- Experience with DevOps testing suites and related toolsets.
- Shipbuilding or other engineer-to-order manufacturing knowledge desirable.
