The Opportunity

Austal is seeking experienced Painters/Blasters with an industrial or automotive background to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment within the maritime industry.

What’s Involved

• Blast operations using garnet abrasive.
• Use of dry and wet film thickness gauges.
• Confined space blasting and painting activities.
• Qualifications to work from Elevated Work Platforms (EWP).
• Ability to follow application processes to meet specified thickness standards.

You’ll Need

• A valid Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
• Spray-painting skills using conventional and airless systems.
• Knowledge of various paint products.
• Ability to perform stripe coating with brush and roller.
• Strong focus on safety and awareness.
• Competency in using power tools and paint/blasting equipment safely.
• Shipyard experience is an advantage.
