About the Role

We are seeking a Material Planner to support major Defence shipbuilding projects in Henderson, WA. This role ensures materials and components are available on time, in the right quantities, and meet project specifications to support smooth production and delivery schedules.

  • 9 day fortnight
  • Strategic and high profile Defence Projects
  • Henderson facility with parking

Reporting to the Scheduling & Planning Manager, you will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Production teams to manage material planning activities across complex shipbuilding programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and forecast material requirements based on production schedules and work orders
  • Maintain accurate material data and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the ERP system
  • Monitor material availability, shortages, and delivery timelines
  • Support procurement and production teams with timely release of material requirements
  • Coordinate with Engineering on design changes, obsolete parts, and custom components
  • Track material readiness to support production milestones
  • Ensure materials meet Defence, marine, and quality standards

About You

  • Experience in material planning, supply chain, or procurement
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as IFS or SAP
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
  • Strong ability to interpret and analyse complex engineering drawings and documentation
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work across Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams
  • Experience in shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction, or Defence environments is highly regarded
