About the Opportunity

The Materials Expeditor ensures timely delivery and efficient flow of materials necessary for production and project completion. This role manages the Bill of Materials (BOM) driven by requisitions and collaborates closely with project teams to provide status updates, highlight critical issues, and resolve schedule conflicts. As an embedded member of the Integrated Project Team (IPT), their responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers, tracking shipments, managing inventory levels, and addressing supply chain issues. As the primary point of contact for project materials, the Materials Expeditor coordinates additional supply chain support as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

What’s Involved

• Maintain and update the Bill of Materials with accurate data.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and procurement on BOM changes.
• Track orders, shipments, and supplier performance to ensure timely delivery.
• Resolve supply issues and support project teams with material updates.
• Prepare reports on material status, delivery performance, and inventory.
• Identify process improvements and support optimal inventory levels.

You’ll Need

Essential

• 5+ Years relevant experience in Materials/ Manufacturing environment preferably in an Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent business.
• Proven experience in complex project support or supply chain management roles.
• Knowledge of BOM management and inventory control practices.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably IFS) and Excel.
• Understanding of MRP processes and material planning.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyse and interpret data to inform decision-making

 Desirable

• 10+ years of Supply Chain/Procurement experience
• Experience in marine/defence or large-scale engineering projects.
• Experience in risk and issue management within projects.
• Knowledge of HSEQ compliance and site safety protocols.
