The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate HSE/Operations Services Advisor to support the Austal Darwin Service Centre Business Unit, delivering works in accordance with Austal HSE Management System requirements and legal obligations. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for all Austal Darwin Service Centre operations, whilst supported from the Austal Corporate and In Service Support (ISS) group.
What’s Involved
- Conduct workplace inspections and ensure schedule compliance
- Lead HSE incident investigations
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and hazard analysis
- Promote health awareness and workplace health management
- Assist in developing procedures and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
- Support business HSE reporting and communicate HSE trends
- Coordinate fitness-for-work initiatives, including drug and alcohol testing
- Vehicle Fleet Management, coordinating servicing and maintenance
- Operational Equipment Management, such as calibration, testing and tagging management
You’ll Need
- Construction safety induction (White Card)
- Certificate IV, Diploma, or Degree in Work Health, Safety & Environment (or related field)
- Strong working knowledge of HSE practices and relevant legislation
- Experience conducting HSE incident investigations using recognised methodologies (e.g., ICAM)
- Proven ability to advise and support management on operational HSE matters
- Experience conducting management system audits and holding internal auditor training
- Intermediate IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- A team-oriented, service-driven approach with excellent relationship-building skills
- Current Driver's Licence and ability to travel between facilities
