Why Austal
Austal Ships has secured a landmark Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA) with the Commonwealth of Australia, supporting the national vision for a sustainable and continuous naval shipbuilding industry.
As the Commonwealth’s Strategic Shipbuilder in Western Australia, Austal is proud to lead this transformative initiative. The SSA will drive significant growth across our industry and workforce, as we deliver both existing and new programs under this long-term partnership.
This agreement enables the design and construction of vessels at our Henderson Shipyard, beginning with the delivery of Landing Craft Medium and Heavy for the Australian Army. It marks a major step forward in establishing enduring shipbuilding capability within the Henderson Precinct and across Western Australia.
We are looking for Graduate Naval Architects to join our team. This is unique opportunity to start your career working on complex, large-scale projects that reflect Austal’s proven capabilities and trusted performance.
