What’s Involved
- Supporting the Fitout Design Lead, producing accurate information and documentation drawing from internal and sub contractor sources, meeting procedural and auditable requirements
- Work among a wider multidisciplinary design team, coordinating the designs to avoid space conflicts, while maintaining efficient layouts and construction methods
- Work inline with project schedules to see deadlines are met, and construction deliverables are produced to the required internal and regulatory standards
- Effectively and efficiently communicate through drawings, verbal and written means to all necessary parties
- Participate in design reviews (2D and 3D) with other disciplines and production to optimise designs, production schedules and methods
- Consistently work with and encourage proactive attitude toward innovation and improvement and with an open mind to suggesting and embracing alternate methods of performing tasks
You’ll Need
- Formal drafting qualifications
- Design or Interior Design Background
- Experience in Design with the Marine Industry, preferably shipbuilding
- Solid understanding of Production methods, and the practical application of design
- Proficient in the Design software: Autocad, Shipconstructor, Cadmatic (or similar Design & modelling tools) and Microsoft office suite
- Intermediate computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite
- A positive and proactive work ethic while learning company standards, and developing standards and systems in a growing company
- Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
