What’s Involved

  • Lead and integrate Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Configuration Management (CM) activities across assigned programs
  • Provide lifecycle leadership from requirements definition through design, build, verification & validation, in-service support, and disposal
  • Establish and maintain configuration baselines across hardware, software, and documentation
  • Develop and implement ILS strategies including maintenance planning, supply support, technical documentation, training, and support equipment
  • Ensure CM and ILS processes align with contractual obligations, Defence standards, and regulatory frameworks
  • Chair or support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and Change Review Boards
  • Provide governance oversight of engineering data management, version control, and change management processes
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide mentorship to ILS and CM professionals
  • Engage with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure supportability and configuration integrity outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across ILS and CM systems and tools

 

You’ll Need 

Essential

  • significant experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Configuration Management within complex engineering environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading lifecycle support strategies for defence or maritime programs
  • Strong knowledge of CM standards such as ISO 10007, EIA-649, ITIL, or equivalent
  • Experience establishing and maintaining configuration baselines for hardware and software systems
  • Experience implementing CM tools, PLM systems, and enterprise asset management systems
  • Understanding of Defence regulatory frameworks and supportability requirements
  • Proven leadership capability with experience managing technical teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance

 

Desirable

  • Defence or maritime sector experience
  • Familiarity with Australian Defence standards and Naval Publications
  • Experience developing ILS artefacts including LSA/LSAR, maintenance task analysis, and provisioning documentation
  • Knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA/RAM) engineering principles
  • Experience implementing digital engineering or model-based configuration environments
  • Formal qualifications in Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline
