About the Opportunity
As the Design Draftsperson for Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you’ll be responsible to provide and support the Design of a vessel from concept through to delivery, on time and on budget that satisfies the standards of Austal, the client and regulatory authorities.

What’s Involved
- Produce accurate information and documentation, meeting all procedural and auditable requirements
- Ensure vessel design complies with relevant regulatory authorities, specifications and customer requirements
- Maintain a high attention to detail, minimising rework and ensuring consistency across deliverables.
- Manage and incorporate design inputs from third parties, including drawings, certifications, and manuals
- Monitor task schedules and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Provide technical support as required across design and production teams.
You’ll Need
- Formal drafting qualifications or equivalent
- Proficient in drafting software, AutoCAD, Shipconstructor and Microsoft office
- Basic understanding of materials and their compatibility in a marine environment
- Skilled in 3D modelling
- Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
