About the Role
The Configuration Management Specialist (CM) for Austal Defence Australia (ADA) will enable effective CM delivery at Austal Defence Australiaâsupporting project outcomes, customer acceptance, and smooth transition to sustainment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the seamless coordination and execution of CM activities within our Systems Engineering Division
- Assist in the completion and close out of CM activities in accordance with engineering plans and schedules.
- Be at the forefront of coordinating and delivering CM activities in a dynamic Systems Engineering environment
- Ensure the correct capture of configuration information/changes within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool.
- Assist in the coordination & conduct of Configuration Audit and reporting activities.
- Contribute to the coordination and evaluation of CM impacts associated with Engineering Changes.
- Assist in coordinating and analysing Configuration Management impacts throughout the Engineering Change lifecycle
- Champion cross-functional teamwork across internal and external parties
About you
- Certificate IV or higher level in technical discipline. A maritime degree or trade qualification would be considered highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience collaborating directly with engineering teams.
- 5 years’ experience in configuration management role, preferably with Defence experience
- Formal Configuration Management training
- Experience with use and application of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Tool
- Knowledge of Configuration Management principles, plans, procedures, and processes
- Strong management skills and team building capability.
- Ability to distribute Configuration Management knowledge to wider Austal audience.
