What’s Involved

  • Execute commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for piping and mechanical systems
  • Carry out commissioning activities with program management, QA/QC, design engineering, vendors, client, class representatives and other production team members as required
  • Verify mechanical and system comletions and readiness for commissioning
  • Ensuring correct installation, alignment, lubrication, and preservation of equipment prior to start-up
  • Plan and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in accordance with internal ITPs
  • Support initial start-up, troubleshooting of mechanical and piping systems
  • Participate in risk assessments, method statements, and toolbox talks
  • Complete commissioning records, test packs, and punch lists, ITPs as required for OQE

You’ll Need

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline/ Mechanical or Mechatronic trade certificate/ Maritime Engine driver or Technician certificate
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and commissioning process
  • Familiar with industry codes and standards
  • Experience with systemisation, MC/RFC processes, and punch list management
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric, datasheets, and vendor manuals
  • 5+ years experience in mechanical/piping construction and commissioning on ship newbuild projects
  • Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
