About the Opportunity
The Asset Management Administrator is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of all asset information within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).This role plays a critical part in supporting the organisation’s asset management framework by ensuring that asset data, maintenance records, and lifecycle information are correctly captured, structured, and maintained to ISO 55001 standards.The role enables effective decision making by managing the asset hierarchy, criticality ratings, maintenance schedules, and performance data within the system. Through strong data governance, reporting, and collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Asset Management Administrator ensures the CMMS remains a trusted source of truth for asset condition, performance, and maintenance history across the ADA sites.

What’s Involved
- Maintain and update the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database with accurate asset information.
- Raise and manage work orders for planned and corrective maintenance activities.
- Enter and track defects identified during inspections, breakdowns, or operational activities.
- Generate corrective work orders based on defect reports and follow-up requirements.
- Liaise with Facility Manager/Coordinator teams to validate asset work order information.
- Coordinate with engineers and asset owners to ensure asset criticality ratings are accurate and reflect operational risk, enabling riskâbased maintenance decisions.
- Ensure all new critical and key assets are correctly registered in Computerised Maintenance Management System with appropriate data.
- Upload asset manuals, drawings, and documentation to Computerised Maintenance Management System records.
- Monitor asset lifecycle data and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
- Generate Computerised Maintenance Management System reporting on critical assets identifying opportunities or issues.
- Ensure compliance with asset information standards by maintaining consistent naming conventions, metadata requirements, and documentation structures across all assets.
- Assist in system audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to asset data management.
- Assist with the development and upkeep of asset configuration records, ensuring each asset’s operational state, components, and history are accurately captured.
- Collaborate with Austal Defence Australia stakeholders to ensure alignment with asset management strategies and program requirements.
You’ll Need
Essential
- Baseline defence clearance or ability to obtain.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Understanding of asset management.
- Sound understanding of maintenance and maintenance execution.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Competence in generating reports and supporting compliance audits.
- Proven experience in asset management data administration within a maintenance or facilities environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 55001 standards and asset management frameworks.
- Experience in managing work orders and asset lifecycle data in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Defence or Shipbuilding experience.
Desirable
- Experience in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Ensure 100% accuracy of critical asset data within Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- Achieve timely creation and closure of work orders for planned and reactive maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 55001 asset management standards.
- Support transition from reactive to proactive maintenance through accurate data management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for asset data integrity and reporting.
