About the Opportunity
Austal is seeking an Acceptance Coordinator to support the delivery and acceptance of major Defence vessel programs. In this role, you’ll help coordinate testing, trials, inspections, and closeout activities to ensure vessels progress smoothly toward final acceptance.
You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, quality, subcontractors, and stakeholders across activities including Verification & Validation (V&V), Test & Activation, Sea Trials, and waterfront closeout.

What You’ll Do
- Coordinate acceptance, testing, and trial activities across assigned work scopes
- Support V&V, Test & Activation, and Sea Trial programs
- Track and manage issues, defects, and closeout activities
- Maintain acceptance records, schedules, and documentation
- Coordinate inspections, bookings, and stakeholder activities
- Liaise with engineering, operations, quality, and subcontractor teams
- Provide progress updates, reports, and status tracking
- Support continuous improvement of acceptance processes
What You’ll Bring Essential
- Experience in project coordination, shipbuilding, marine, defence, or complex industrial projects
- Strong organisation, scheduling, and coordination skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and documentation control
- Experience supporting testing, trials, commissioning, or acceptance activities
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering outcomes
Desirable
- Experience in waterfront, testing, or operational environments
- Exposure to Sea Trials, maintenance programs, or vessel delivery activities
- Familiarity with MS Project, Excel, SharePoint, or similar tools
- Understanding of V&V, testing, activation, or inspection processes
