About the role
- Construct primary structures such as frames, keels, girders, and deck beams for vessels.
- Construct secondary structures such as walkways, handrails, equipment brackets and bases.
- Read and understand technical documents and workshop drawings.
- Adhere to the Austal Safety and Quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and productive work environment.
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will be a trade qualified Fabricator/Boilermaker/Sheet Metalworker or Vehicle Body Builder who has:
- Experience in aluminium and/or steel fabrication or MIG welding
- A positive and professional work ethic, taking pride in finished work.
- Be physically fit and comfortable working in confined spaces, as well as at heights.
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
