About AustalSecurity Clearance roles only: Due to the Security Clearance required for this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance. About the roleSovereign Supplier Capability Development Manager is responsible for facilitating the development of sovereign Australian industry capabilities to provide localised solutions across Austal programs. This role will also work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the procurement strategy is delivering sovereign Australian outcomes. What you will be responsible for:Identifying opportunities for Australian Suppliers to develop their sovereign capabilities.Developing and managing the execution of the Australian Industry Capability Plans for Austal programs.Conducting market testing to monitor current Australian supplier content levels and work with internal stakeholders and lead the development/substitution for local sustainable supply chain solutions.Identifying gaps/opportunities for local businesses to enter the Defence supply chain and liaise with Government and Industry bodies to support local businesses.Identify opportunities that will support the Australian Government’s Indigenous Procurement Policy through the engagement of Indigenous business enterprises.Alignment of Austal’s AIC strategies with the CoA Defence Industry Development Strategy (DIDS) and Sovereign Defence Industry Priorities (SDIPs).Conduct regular reporting on a program-by-program basis on AIC achievement and the development of the Australian Industry Activities (AIA) Schedule.Reporting on progress of assurance activities planned / conducted during the reporting period, including changes and any new opportunities.Maintaining a catalogue of Australian capability successes for reporting or promotional purposes. What you will need:Have Tertiary level qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Contractual Law, or similar with several years of relevant Supply Chain experience in the Defence environmentExceptional understanding of Supply Chain and procurementStrong written and communication skillsOutstanding relationship-building and stakeholder management skillsHold a Construction safety induction (white card). Why Austal:Competitive compensation and benefits package.Professional development and training opportunities.A supportive and dynamic work environment.Opportunities for career advancement within our growing organisation. What's on Offer:Located in Henderson, WAPermanent salaried positionRoster B: 80 hours over 9 days with an RDO every second FridaySalary Sacrificing, Novated Leasing, Retailer discount, EAP, Insurance discounts Our global team is guided by a universal set of values that describe the focus of our efforts.
