Security Clearance roles only: Due to the Security Clearance required for this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance.About the roleThe Configuration Management Lead (CML) is accountable to the Austal Configuration Manager and the relevant Program Manager.  The CML primary role is to oversee the configuration management functions - planning, identification, control, status accounting and auditing for specified contract/project. The CML will ensure configuration management activities for assigned project are adequately planned, estimated, implemented, and supported by appropriate tools.  Key objectives & responsibilities include:development and maintenance of the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) which outlines the CM policies, processes, strategy, and tools for the specific project.establishing and maintaining the configuration baselines and audits.controlling change by implementing and enforcing the change management process, which defines how the changes are requested, evaluated, approved, implemented, tested, and documented.facilitating Change Control Board (CCB) meetings and maintain associated data updates as required for the project(s).responsible for verifying and auditing of configuration baselines, ensuring control of approved and historical data.team development ensuring process compliance and continuous improvement.Develop and administer schedules and ensure the success of Austal programs. Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:Essential5 Years’ experience in Configuration Management role, preferably with Defence experience.Formal Configuration Management Training.Experience with use and application of Product Lifecycle Management Tool (PLM).Knowledge of Configuration Management principles, plans, procedures, and processes.Strong management skills and team building capability.Ability to distribute Configuration Management knowledge to wider Austal audience.Hold a Construction safety induction (white card).DesirableTertiary Configuration Management qualifications or equivalent Systems Engineering qualifications.In depth knowledge of configuration management principles, practices, and standards.Familiar with Defence Industry ASDEFCON contract requirements.Effective communications skills; and competency in Microsoft office and standard engineering software.Practical knowledge of systems engineering standards and processes.Alibility to work independently with little supervision.
